Personal information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- contact information, such as your name, email address, telephone number, billing address, and shipping address;
- order and transaction information, such as products viewed or ordered, cart activity, order history, returns, exchanges, payment status, and shipping details;
- limited payment-related information made available to us by Shopify or a payment provider, such as payment status, payment method type, transaction identifiers, and fraud-screening results. Full payment card numbers are processed by Shopify or the applicable payment provider and are not stored by Dockline;
- communications you send to us, including customer-service questions and product or order feedback;
- marketing preferences and records of consent where applicable; and
- technical and usage information collected through cookies and similar technologies, such as IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, referring pages, and interactions with the store.
We collect personal information directly from you, automatically through the store, and from service providers that help us operate the store, process payments, prevent fraud, fulfil orders, deliver products, analyze store performance, or provide advertising where permitted.
How we use personal information
We use personal information to:
- provide products and services, process payments, fulfil and deliver orders, and manage returns or exchanges;
- communicate about orders and respond to questions or support requests;
- verify transactions, prevent fraud, maintain security, and protect customers and the store;
- operate, troubleshoot, and improve the website, products, services, and customer experience;
- measure store performance and understand how visitors use the website;
- send marketing communications where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by law, and honour unsubscribe requests;
- comply with legal, tax, accounting, regulatory, and dispute-resolution obligations; and
- establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
If personal information is needed to complete an order or provide a requested service, declining to provide it may prevent us from completing that request.
Consent and your choices
We seek meaningful consent where required and limit collection, use, and disclosure to identified and appropriate purposes. You may withdraw consent for optional uses at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawal does not affect processing already completed lawfully and may affect our ability to provide a requested service.
You can unsubscribe from marketing email by using the unsubscribe link in the message or by contacting us at hello@dockline.ca. You can also manage cookies through choices made available on the website and through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect store functions.
To opt out of eligible sharing or use of personal information for targeted or personalized advertising through Shopify, visit the Data Sharing Opt-Out page.

- government, regulatory, law-enforcement, or other parties where required or permitted by law; and
- a purchaser or successor in connection with a proposed or completed business transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not authorize service providers to use personal information for unrelated purposes. Dockline remains accountable for personal information transferred to service providers for processing and uses contractual or other reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information and the service.
The store may use Shopify Network Intelligence, which allows Shopify to use information about interactions with this store and other merchants to provide and improve services, including personalized advertising where enabled. Shopify processes information as described in the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy. You can make certain requests about Shopify's use of personal information through the Shopify Privacy Portal.
Processing outside Canada
Dockline and its service providers may process or store personal information in Canada, the United States, and other countries. When information is processed outside Canada, it is subject to the laws of that jurisdiction and may be accessible to courts, law-enforcement agencies, or national-security authorities under those laws. Dockline remains accountable for personal information transferred to a service provider for processing and uses reasonable safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.
Contact the Privacy Officer if you would like more information about service providers outside Canada or Dockline's safeguards.
Retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to complete transactions, provide support, maintain business and tax records, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary based on the type of information and the reason it is held. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete, destroy, or anonymize it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the personal information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Do not send payment card numbers or other sensitive payment information by email.
Access, correction, and complaints
Subject to limited exceptions under applicable law, you may ask whether Dockline holds personal information about you, request access to that information and an account of how it has been used or disclosed, and ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information. You may also ask questions, withdraw consent for optional processing, or make a privacy complaint.
Send requests to the Privacy Officer at hello@dockline.ca. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and explain any lawful refusal.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information may contact the Privacy Officer to request its deletion, subject to applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices, services, or legal obligations. We will post the updated policy on this website, revise the last-updated date, and provide additional notice where required by law.
